Default L.A. BCIS story... continued...

Well... if there's anyone who's read my previous posts regarding my constant
trips to the BCIS (ex INS), this is a summary/update so far...

I had my AOS interview on Dec. 6, was approved, but didn't get the stamp due
to a freeze. They told me to stop by in some time to see if my status had
changed.

2/25 - Went up to room 8010 and was told that to access my file I needed to
get a pass in room 1001. So I went there only to find out the line to get
in went all the way around the building.

2/27 - Got to the INS at 5AM (it was raining...) only to find out the line
was longer than the previous time. Regardless, I waited. Got in at 9AM.
There they told me that they only gave out 10 passes to access your
interview file. Why couldn't anyone tell me about this sooner???

2/28 - Went to the INS at midnight. There were already like 40 people
there. I asked one by one and unfortunately, there were more than 10 people
waiting in line that were there for their passes. So I left.

3/2 - Went to the BCIS with my husband at 9PM and camped out till the next
morning so I could be one of the first ones in. Boy was it cold... we
totally forgot to take a blanket... we almost froze. I was the 10th one in
line! Finally... I'd get to see my file. I got in at 6:05 AM and got a
paper that said I had to wait till 7AM to get into room 8010 to review my
file. I went there only to find out that the person who had interviewed me
wasn't working there anymore and the director had to pull out my file and
assign it to someone else. They asked for my address and phone number so
that they could send me a letter or call me within 90 days letting me know
when I would have to come in for an interview... HUH??? I couldn't believe
it! My husband and I were so disappointed. I dropped off my hubby at work
and went home. 30 minutes later, hubby calls me and lets me know he just
spoke to the floor supervisor (which was VERY surprised that he called,
since they don't publish the number). The supervisor told him to tell me
that my case has been assigned to officer Jones and that I should stop by
today to talk to him. I may get my stamp right then and there or they might
have to run a background check. Either way, I am so happy 'cause it seems
like this story might have a happy ending.

I'll post later today to let you guys know how it went.

With all that work you put in, I do hope you get it soon. It is
sad that you have to go thru all these hassles.

Hi:

From what I understand, you husband managed to find out your case was under Joanna Golshani and she assigned it to Officer Jones.

That appears to me to be a huge setback.

Why are you happy?

Nonetheless, I hope it works out.

In what possible way is this an acceptable way to be served at a US Gov't office?

I thought horror stories like this were Urban Legends.

Gili, I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. Perhaps it's time for some help from your/your husband's Representatives/Senators?

Hi:

Congratulations. All four immigration lawyers in our office are ecstatic about your miracle approval.

I hope you thanked the big guy profusely. We would like him to get into the habit of approving cases.

It isn't acceptable in any way but I have read here that, depending on
what the visit is for, if one is not one of the first people in line
even entry to the building is not possible. The new BCIS may be trying
to work against the flood of petitions but I would not usually use the
word 'service' when describing their actions

    > I thought horror stories like this were Urban Legends.

I suppose they are not

Believe me... I thanked everyone!... Officer Jones, my husband, God... Ms.
Golshani wasn´t there, but I'll be sending her a letter. Lets hope the BCIS
will be approving plenty of cases in the near future.
