Default keeping marriage greencard

I have a friend who married an american and get her greencard that way (this
was a year ago), now they have been having marital problem, he has become
violent, she has a restraining order on him, etc, etc. What are the chances
she will be able to keep her green card?

If she can proove that he is a bastard, and has police records and court documents then there is a waiver box to tick on the I-751 form. For batters or extreme cruelty against the foreign spouse bty the USC.

If she has L-1R status (10 year green card) there is no problem. If she has a C-PR status (2 year green card) she can apply for a waiver of removal of conditions based on abuse. Read the I-751 instructions.
