Hello

My wife came in on a K3 and she had a SSN from being here as a Nanny last
year (how we met).

We sent away for the EAD and it was received on Sept 18th, biometrics was
done on Oct 1st. We are still waiting for it to be approved & arrive.

My wife has already managed to get a job. She showed her employer her K3
Visa and I-94 as well as the notice of action of her pending EAD and they
were satisfied with that. They are a very reputable, national organization
which receives some government funding so I assume they know what they are
doing.

Is there anything wrong with this?

Are K3's authorized to work upon entry and the EAD is just proof of this?
Or are they not allowed to work until they actually receive their EAD?

Is she just fortunate that she found an organization that understands the
process and is willing to have her work while her EAD is pending, or are
they and/or her doing something wrong?

I just wanted to make sure.
