Default k3 v k1 visa

Hi

Has anyone any up to date info regarding going for a K3 visa as opposed to a K1 visa.
ie. From England to the US. If you get married in the UK do you apply at the US embassy in London to start the process off?
Can you then visit the USA as much as possible whilst the process is going through?
If anyone has any information on current guidelines, timelines, pitfalls, differences in rules and forms , I would be grateful.
Lots of internet information about the K1 but not about the recent K3 changes it seems. Any links also would be useful.
Regards
Pj

K3 is the same process as the K1 but the couple must: 1- Be married (with marriage
certificate in English) 2- Have sent off the I-130 and received 1st NOA

Being that it's a US / UK thing, you won't have any translation issues. No you don't
file at the embassy in the UK. The USC must file here in the US. A list of the most
common INS forms can be found at:
http://www.ins.gov/graphics/formsfee...ndex.htm#chart "How to bring a spouse"
according to the INS: http://www.ins.gov/graphics/howdoi/spouselive.htm Also see:
http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/pu...life081401.htm K-3 FAQ by
the US Consulate in Mexico did a nice job:

Also, the INS doesn't seem to worry about UK citizens coming over so probably the
fiancé(e) could visit as often as possible. There is no rule against it while waiting
for approval on the I-129F.

In my opinion, bringing a fiancé(e) is easier. Less tax docs to show, getting married
and waiting for the licence sometimes slows things down. Also, waiting for my wife
somehow seems worse than waiting for my fiancée. Of course, that's purely
psychological.

Hope this helps, I know how hard it was to do the research when I started. I didn't
know about this NG until AFTER I filed and received the 1st NOA.

If you are already married, there's only one choice, the K3 visa. If you are trying
to determine if you should marry in a foreign country, then you still have a choice.

If you take a look at http://k1.exit.com

It does a good job of explaining the both of them.

Here's my current timelines (I'm going through the K3 process):
