Add me to the list! I just got a call from Sohail, and his VISA was approved! We're both so happy! He'll be coming this weekend, inshallah, and once he gets here, we're going to both write up his experiences with the K3 interview, and his POE experience. Thanks for your support, guys!!!

Hi Ayisha,
I am really happy for you and your husband.
You know at same time feel little sad, that after all this time my husband and I are watitng again. But thats life and have to deal with it. At least I was told at embassy, that my husband can just show up to embassy any working day for an interview after he gets the Police Certificate from Canada dont need to get another date from Embassy.
Hope you the best of all.
Congratulations to you again
God bless you!!

Hi Salooni!
Nope, no details yet except that the interview was about two to four minutes long. Questions like where I lived, how we met, etc. were asked. There were two American ladies doing the interview and they were both pretty nice, according to my wife. Other than that, I don't know much else. My wife's been running around preparing for the move so I have been having a hard time catching her at home but I'll post details when she comes here and lets me know how it all transpired.
Regards,
JM

Thanks all! I'm so excited, and Sunday can't get here early enough! I'm not going to believe it until he's here! James, I'm with you on this, I can't get a hold of Sohail either! He's too busy buying me pretty things. I keep telling him to leave it alone, all I want is him here!
I DID manage to get some details. His appointment was at 8am, and around 11:00 they took his papers. They called him in at 12:30 and it was a woman, and she was very nice. He also said that the interview took only 10 minutes, and she asked what I was doing now, how long we lived together after the wedding, and she asked to see our nikah nama. I can't remember what else he said, but like I said, we'll post his experience once he gets here!!!
Ayisha (still can't believe it!)

I got approved a few days back. Can someone tell we what will US
embassy send to my wife and is there anything that she has to send
anything right away to them. If I am not mistaken police verification
is not required for Pakistan. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Bhoola2!
Congrats on the approval. Your wife will receive a "Packet 3" from the consulate with forms and required documents for the interview. She'll also receive her interview date. You need police certificate as that's a newly implemented requirement. She just needs to send herself for the interview along with the completed forms and the requested docs.
Good luck,
JM

this is all great news......
i've been reading the posts being put up for the past few days and i'm feeling better now that i hear people are being approved for the visa. i've heard that getting the k-3 visa is a lot harder and takes a lot longer than the k-1 visa. these are just rumors and i don't know if they're true.
i've heard many stories about the consulate in islamabad taking a long time with visa processing and disapproving visas. it seems that this is not the case.
does anyone know if female consulars give the interviews for the k-1 visa as well? because if they do, then the interview will go a lot smoother for my fiancee. i know that she will not be as nervous or intimidated by the consular if its a female. also, my fiancee's english isn't that great so i hope that won't be a big problem either.
you guys wrote that your interview did not last that long. it seems that the interview only lasts a few minutes. thats good.
also, do you guys know if after the interview, there is a time limit on the decision of whether or not you'll get the visa? just wondering because i might visit my fiancee when she is scheduled for her interview and i probably won't be able to spend a lot of time over there.
congrats for all of you whose spouses have been approved for visas!!! i can't wait till that day comes for me, because i know it will be the HAPPIEST day of my life!!

James,
Thanks a lot for the info. I hope you dont mind correcting me in the
statement below i.e. When she receives the packet she does not have to
send anything back to them she will need to take all the completed
paperwork with her.
Once again thx for answering my previous question.
