K3 and EAD
I am Cdn and I will be going through the Toronto Airport next week to activate my K3.
Will I get my EAD there? I have a job lined up in the U.S. (Minneapolis) and am
wondering if I have to do anything else after I activate my K3 and if so how long it
will take before I am authorized to start working in the U.S. Thank you in advance!

Re: K3 and EAD
Tanya: I activated my K3 by passing the Buffalo border almost 3 months ago. From what
I understand they don't give EAD for K3. I think it's only for K1. K3beneficiary has
to apply I-765(EAD) by mailing in the application to Chicago INS (that's the route I
took). I sent mine in late May. Have done biometrics but still no EAD. But on the NOA
I received it said it would take 60 to 180 days after biometrics are taken to process
the EAD. Some people file EAD together with AOS at local INS office but that's not
the route I took. I'm moving along with the I-130 but thought I will apply the EAD as
a safety insurance. Well I have my interview date schedule for August yet still no
EAD. I hope the info will help. Good luck,
