Hi,
I have an NOA1 for I-130 filed at CSC dated 10-25-02; the petition has
not been approved yet. My wife is already here on K3 visa. If I file
an I-485 along with a new I-130 at local LA BCIS office, will I be
sent back to the end of the line again? Is there any processing time
line for such cases?
Rrgards,
Keivan

Dear Keivan
I'm also a k3er, and had sent my AOS to LA BCIS office 2 weeks ago together with my I-130 approval notice. In your case, you don't have to file a new I-130, just sent the I-485 together with the copy of your I-130 NOA1 and also I-129 approval. They should be able to find your original I-130 file.
I had filed for the work permit I-765, received 1NOA and fingerprinted. Still waiting for the work permit. What about your wife?
Since we both file with the same BCIS office, let's keep each other posted on our case status.

I don't undertand your question. Exactly what "line" are you talking about. Your I-485 will be considered in filing order. You don't mention any prior I-485. Please clarify.

Hi,
It was my understanding that some district offices such as LA don't
process I-485 unless an I-130 has already been approved. The only way
to get around that is to submit a new I-130 along with I-485; my
question was how long the processing time for I-485 with the new I-130
submital will be. There is no prior I-485 in my case.
Scorpio, did you send your I-765 to Chicago office ( handling K3
cases) or LA office? I haven't filed that yet.
Thanks,
Keyvan

The processing time for I-485 is really slow now. I read about a news from the newspaper yesterday, saying that they've been stop processing I-485 in CA BCIS for a while, because they are busy processing religion related immigration. No wonder people said that it took 2-3 yrs to get the green card.
Yes, I sent the I-765 to the Chicago office, I recently checked my status online, it says my case is approved, and a new EAD card is on the way.
Also received the I-485 1st NOA, and a letter with an appointment for my AOS fingerprint.
