K1 VISA Petition
I have filed my K1 VISA through the california service center at the
begining of August and has recently received a notice of Action. The
application was received on August 4, 2006. In the application, I had to
provide evidence that there is a legitimate relationship between my finance
and myself. If this petition is approved, do I still need to provide
evidence that this relationship is ongoing when we apply for her VISA? The
reason I'm asking is that we keep in touch through Yahoo Messenger in the
past. The message archiver proved to be an excellent record of our chat
sessions which was included with K1 petition. But lately we have switched
to Skype. Now with Skype we are now communicating through voice or VOIP.
Its an excellent way to keep in touch but now we don't have any record of
our communications. Is it advisable that we someone keep in mind that we
have to bear proof that the relationship continues when she applies for her
VISA? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, you didn't apply for a K-1 visa at CSC. You submitted an I-129F petition. It's your fiancee is the one who will apply for the K-1 visa, through the consulate in her home country. I'm just mentioning it, because it helps to get the right terminology.
You didn't really need to prove your relationship with the I-129F, you only had to prove you met within the past 2 years. You'll be showing the proof of ongoing relationship at the visa interview at the consulate. So yes, bring along whatever you have that shows you guys are in touch. A sampling of emails, chats, phone bills, whatever you have. If you have nothing, then you can't bring anything...but it might not hurt to make a real phone call once in a while so you'll have a record of it, or sent emails that can be printed. When I went to my fiance's K-1 interview in Turkey in 2004, the officer asked for the most recent 6 months of original phone bills. But again, everyone has a different method of communicating. Bring whatever you've got, including what you've already turned in with the I-129F.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Re: K1 VISA Petition
I did not have any evidence of phone calls, never thought of it. And could not have evidenced it anyway.
I did take a selection of photo's, but he had a photo of us together in his file so was not interested.
Take everything you have.
A lot of this is very Consulate specific and you did not say which one you are going through.

Re: K1 VISA Petition
Oh thanks for the definition. Yes you are correct that I am filing a
finance(e) petition using the form I-129F. I did include in my submittal
evidence of our relationship by including messages, cards, phone cards and
plane tickets. I am the one that is petitioning my financee who is in the
Philippines. I am an American through naturalization.
Now that question I directed was for the VISA portion and you have answered
my question. I heard that the American embassy is one of the busiest for
many want to come to the States. Being this is the case, it takes a long
time to get a finance(e) VISA. Any slippage in not filling the form
appropiately can result in delays. Anyway had experience in this as an
American trying to bring a fiance(e) from the Philippines?
