Excellent research!

You first need to decide which visa route you're going to do (K-1 or spouse Immigrant). The forms are different for each, so don't go researching one if it's not going to apply to you.

Filing a tax return is a requirement for all Americans making above a certain amount no matter where they live in the world. There is approximately a $95,000 per year foreign earned income exclusion as well as tax credits can be used. For most Americans living overseas, they won't owe any US taxes.
