Hello,
My Canadian fiance's I-129F has been approved! (Received by TSC on
09/22) They are sending it to Vermont for final processing and so the
consulate in Montreal can be notified. Soo now we are wondering if she
can enter the US to visit. Will she have any problems getting across the
border (by air)? Should she say she is coming to visit me or a
relative/friend? She will probably be coming with her parents so they
could say they are going to visit relatives or something...
Thanks!
Osman

If you're on a K1, it makes sense for parents to meet so I doubt she'd
have a hard time explaining this at her POE.
There's just the usual disclaimer that comes with this: make sure she
doesn't forget to bring enough evidence that she's actually planing on
going back to Canada.
And congratulations for your approval!

I have crossed the border a lot while waiting for our I-129F and K1 approval.
In fact, I was in the US when the notice for our interview came in, and I had to fly back to Canada in "emergency mode" - thanks, Montreal, for giving me less than a week's notice! Yikes!
but I'm not complaining...
All you have to do is be TOTALLY honest at the border. The guys in Ottawa knew who I was visiting, and that I'd be back (I used to bring letters from my employers, and so forth and so on) and never once lied to them. I never had ANY problems. I also had to travel on business on occasion, and that was fine by them too.
So there you have it. Your fiancee needs to bring evidence she's going back to Canada - letter from her employer, lease, letter from her landlord, etc... the only concern I'd have travelling with her parents would be that the POE may wonder if they're all going down for a WEDDING. So, I'd be clear about wedding dates if it's been picked out (bring receipts for deposits with the wedding date, etc...) and so forth and so on...
Take care, and good luck.
Elly

Osman,
Congratulations - I think.... Your approved petition is going to Vermont for final processing?
It should be going to the National Visa Center in New Hampshire to be forwarded directly on the the consulate in Montreal.

I travelled to the US for christmas (Dublin to Chicago) and was pulled aside
at US Immigration in Dublin and quizzed.
I produced evidence that I intended to return to the UK and was allowed to
go on my way, but I asked the guy who quizzed me if there was any way that I
could make this process easier on both of us next time.
He assured me that what I'd done was fine and it was simply standard
procedure, however he said that he was equally certain that I wouldn't be
allowed to travel at all following my NOA2 "because things start moving real
quick after that".
This seemed backwards to me since he appeared to be saying that the closer
to approval I got (and therefore less likely to jeopordise the whole
process) the more of a risk I became.
Still, it's scared me from booking any more trips to see my fiancee in case
our NOA2 comes up in the meantime. It makes the time go really slowly, but
surely after 241 days we're due for some news soon!?
Best of luck,
Andy
