Hi,
we've submitted our EAD forms in mid April to the Vermont INS office. We've submitted
our AOS forms last week to our local INS office in NYC.
We sent it to the two different offices as it said on the forms to do but now we are
confused about how the two will communicate regarding our case. We would like to
check on the status of our case and have tried the Vermont service center number
802-527-4913 but it is always busy. We also don't have a *return receipt* to track
our case as stated on http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/se...ding.htm#other .
Thank you for any information,
Sebastian & Megan

I assume you didn't see the advice the K-1 FAQ and this newsgroup gives that says
don't bother filing the temporary EAD (category (a) (6)) with a service center
because you won't get it back in time. Oh well, too late now.
The bigger "gotcha" is that you should have filed for the one year EAD (category (c)
(9)) when filing the AOS papers at NYC. Because you didn't, you'll probably have to
wait until you have some receipt from them to file which means it will be a longer
wait to get the EAD.
