Just went for my K1 interview Tuesday...
Arrived there at 9am, and waited for 45 minutes before the 3 couples in
front were done. My delivery of paperwork was pretty fast though the girl
at the counter was not that friendly.
nevermind, she gave no problems,
just asked me where I met my fiance, how many siblings did he have, and what
were THEY doing. Almost caught me off-guard!
then she took my apptment letter and cancelled out the time 9.00am and wrote
2.45. arriving at 15 minutes earlier, i sat in the silent room till at
2.45pm straight on the dot the same girl came out and called for me. gave
her my apptment letter and was told to wait somemore. boy, this wait was
loooong. there were 2 other couples, of whom i'd seen earlier in the
morning submitting their paperwork as well, and around 3.15 I suppose, the
first couple went up to be interviewed. they took a long time, had a lot of
problems (not caused by the officer tho). they left and the officers
disappeared too. came back in 10 minutes, and the second couple went up for
theirs. this was shorter, and after they left i thought, oh finally my turn!
i stopped reading my novel, getting ready to get up, and about half hour
later they finally came back to the window for me. first thing they said was
"sorry to have kept you waiting", and said that the reason they had to make
me wait so long was because they were reading through every piece of
evidence! i submitted only the originals of the evidence submitted in the
original petition, and i guess they only read it just now, between after the
second couple left, and my turn, that's why they took so long.
a couple questions later, simple ones about our plans on where to live,
where he works, how we met, they gave me the receipt for my cashier's order
and told me to go back on friday to collect the passport.
hope this helps someone, somehow...

Congratulations and best wishes [email protected], you just made my
day!
Soon it will be my turn ~ right there, at the Singapore US Embassy
too.
Thank you Steve2003 for a most informative link with your message.
If you can share info such as where to take that 'different kind of
pic', medical shots required, etc. I'd be really grateful.
I'm a newbie with this group and any information/advice will be
greatly appreciated.

there is a mall down the road from the embassy... the first one on the corner... it has the mc donalds and the food court on the bottom floor... it has a kodak shop there that can take them. Take the full font face ones... 2"x2". Take 2.

Thank you everyone! : )
My fiance lives in new jersey. he's coming down to singapore July 17 to pick
me up and visit my mum before we move up there. : )
steve I am not kidding when i say I read your complete story more than 4
times, just so i could get through MY own interview. must really say a big
THANK YOU for your information!
femailpal when's your interview or timeline? all the best! they are not
difficult at all (just makes you wait a whole lot - difficult when you're
alone...with no cellphone). i went to pick up my visa on friday and while i
was there witnessed 1 person who stood at the counter haggling with the
officer for half hour and was rejected in the end, but that was definitely
not a K1 visa. up my turn went, and i think i stood there for less than 2
minutes. i handed in my receipt (that's your ticket to pick up the visa),
and she handed me my passport and big brown envelope, told me not to open
it, and to bring it to the POE with me, and that was it. smoothest ever.
as for medical, I actually went for my medical the day after i got my packet
3, and asked them if i haven't sent in my bio form yet, would they be ok
with that. and they said no problem. so by the time i had my interview set,
i was already done with the 2nd shot of varicella (chickenpox). cost me
$327+$95 altogether. thought it might be useful for you. i had to get all 4
shots (varicella, rubella, measles and mumps i think) since i didin't have
my vaccination records. no need to get hep B shot unless you're above a
certain age, it seems. i went to drs horne and something at orchard shaw
towers.
my timeline:
I-129F sent VSC 13-Mar-03 received 17-Mar-03
NOA#1 20-Mar-03
NOA#2 09-Apr-03
NVC Received/sent to singapore 18-Apr-03
Packet #3 25-apr-03
Packet #4 21-may-03
K1 Interview # 10-Jun-03

Thanks for your info junetl, all has been noted. You sure got through
fast and smooth.

We're going through TSC (like Steve, my fiance is lives in Florida) so
it's a wait - wait - wait process.
NOA#1 25 Mar 03, nothing else so we're just keeping my fingers
crossed.
Again, congratulations! It's great reading of fellow Singaporeans
going through the process smoothly.

Thank you Steve.
My fiance lives in Florida too and I'll be getting in via MCO.
Like junetl, I'll be reading your trip write-up again and again just
to overcome this long (rather stressful) waiting period.
