Hi All,
My fiancee and I are about to apply for a K1 and submit the I-129F...
I have a question about my UK passport...
The passport expires in July 2011, K1 application will be submitted in a few weeks.
If we expect approval and visa issue by Jan 2011, this is close to the 6 month rule for passport expiry.
I am visiting the US at the end of April, filing the I-129F and then returning.
I was considering renewing my UK passport when I return to the UK, there's no mention of passport numbers on the I-129F, so I presume this wouldn't be a problem. The only info it asks for is the I-94 arrival/departure number - which is of course associated with the current passport.
My question is, if I renew my passport after filing the I-129F, would this cause problems further down the line? I'm presuming that because I am just renewing an existing valid passport, this wouldn't be an issue?
Thanks for your help!

For the avoidance of misunderstanding, you will not be submitting a K1 application in a few weeks if the I-129f has not yet been submitted.
I-129f is not a visa application.

Yes apologies, first the I-129f is submitted, once the first stage completes, I'm then contacted in the UK further down the line to submit the K1 application.
The wiki guides are really helpful by the way!!
Thanks,
Tim.
