Default K-3's Father

I appreciate the fast (and optimistic) answer to my last question. Now,
I have another concern:

My fiancee has a 6 yo daughter. She is divorced and says the father has
no interest in his child. What kind of release do I need my fiancee to
obtain?

And now I have the wrong "handle" -- it's going to be a long day.

It depends on where they are FROM.
Some coutries require permission to remove a minor child.
Signature from father usually needed.
If father can't or won't sign, then court orders are next step.
Check the law of the country of origen.
The American Embassy in that country usually knows and has it posted on
their web site.

There is always a way, sometimes it's just tedious

Sorry to ask again; maybe my post was lost last week.

My fiancee has a 6 year old daughter. I guess that she will come in on a
K-2 visa. The father has no interest in the child anymore. Will I need
to get some sort of release of custody for her?

I haven't seen anything in the FAQ or on the web about this topic.

A week ago, I asked about custody issues; I have read the FAQ, but if
there's any information about K-2 visas for children whose ex-fathers
are still living, I haven't been able to find it.

Does nobody know about this, or have I violated some rule of this NG? I
don't think so, but it's always possible.
