Hi, I submitted I-130 with exactly what they asked for - marriage cert and proof of
U.S citizenship.
Question is - did I hurt my application process by giving the INS exactly what it had
asked for instead of submitting extra stuff like pictures of the engagement, wedding,
honeymoon etc.
A lawyer whom i had initially gone to said that sending pictures would be appropriate
and would speed up the process - but he turned out to be a bogus chap.
your opinion would be appreciated.
thanks mj

I also filed a I-130 and included only the stuff that was required, nothing extra. I think the pictures and proof of relationship comes later, not at the stage of filing the I-130.
Those things are brought with you and your spouse to the interview.

Where did you file the petition, if for example it was a DCF in
London (and I beleive many overseas countries are the same) then you did not need to send in photos.
If that is the case then I can see no reason why it would cause
you any problems.
I'm sure the INS get sent loads of information that they do
not want or need, if fact I should imagine that the shredder
at most service centres ans consulates works 24 hours a day.
As I've said I can only relate to DCF in London.

Only send what the forms ask for. Sending anything extra will only slow down
processing of your application. Also, your application should be organized in a
certain manner. If in doubt, follow the INS guidelines posted on their website at
http://www.ins.-
gov/graphics/fieldoffices/scnational/index.htm Since your are all ready
married, you don't need anything more than a valid marriage certificate to prove
your marriage.
If you have any further questions, feel free to post or email me, since my husband
and I went thru the K-3 process.

You should definitely only give them what they ask for you:
On our time line page I have the cover page we used to send in our I-130:

Exactly.. If you are married, that documentation is what you need for the I-130.
Pictures, etc might be provided to the consulate, but not for the I-130 filing.
