My fiancee lives in the Ukraine and has an 11 year old child. What I need to know is
will she need anything from her ex-husband allowiing the child to leave the country?
Will the embassy require any documentation of this? I have heard both ways. If any
one has any insight please let me know. Gary

Hi there
In my experience of this i had to get a letter signed by my ex husband to say that it was ok for me to take him out of the country (uk) and to reside in the US. If you get one of these then make multiple copies of it just incase there are any hitches. I assume that your fiancee has custody?

I don't believe the Embassy needs anything, but I recommend getting a notarized (or
whatever they call it there) letter from the child's father indicating the child is
free to travel with her. The child's father should be notified. It is better to
resolve any issues before taking the child from the country.
