K-1 Visa - APROVED!
Hi guys! Just got back from my ineterview at the embassy, and it was a success! The feeling of relief is immeasurable.
The whole process from filing I-129f to visa acceptance has took a little under 9 months.
I-129f filed: 15/06/2017
Received: 20/06/2017
I-129f accepted: 22/12/2017
Medical: 05/03/2018
Interview: 14/03/2018
The interview itself wasn’t stressful at all. If you have a clean police record, sufficient support when entering the US and a legitimate relationship, you really have nothing to worry about. The woman was very friendly and it is definitely a formality (even though I was a nervous wreck before).
Without the help and advice from the members at BE, this process would have been a lot harder. (Special thanks to Rene, Tom, Ben and Scott).
Now hopefully I can advise people as I have been advised and repay the favour!
Thanks,
Joshua.

They are actually there to help more than to deny you a visa. Its still daunting, but as you said.. if you’ve done everything by the book, it shouldn’t be a problem!

Congratulations, Junior.
Now on to the next step ... MARRIAGE. What are your plans for leaving the UK and getting married? Are you both waiting almost the 90 days before marrying or are you doing straight away?
Both you and she can get started on the new paperwork before the wedding so that hurdle is over and done and all you will need is the marriage certificate to come so you can file.

Re: K-1 Visa - APROVED!
Cheers Tom! Thank you for all the help.
Rete - I’m planning on leaving the U.K. around the 20th of April.. we have a date set already (6th July) so I guess it’s towards the end of the 90 days.
What documents should I be getting together before we marry? I will most definitely need help with my AOS, I had a vague idea of the k-1 process, but the AOS is new territory for me!

Yeah I understand that! I’ve got a lot of money saved up between us and we will be living with my fiancées parents for a while so it’s less to pay for. I guess the sooner we file everything and get it ready, the better! Is it an I-485 that needs to be filed?

Re: K-1 Visa - APROVED!
Yeah the I-485 needs to be filed.
Also the I-765 (Employment Auth) and I-131 which is for Advanced Parole which will allow you to leave the US while your I-485 is being adjudicated. If you leave the US without Advanced Parole, you're abandoning your I-485 application. Why some people don't file this is beyond me, it's included in the filing fee for your I-485.

Just to add, the Wiki on here is what I used (albeit certain things are a little out of date such as the filing fee, but the current filing fee can be found on the USCIS website for form I-485).
