K-1 Visa approved yesterday!
Hi folks,
Just want to post the great news. Yesterday I had my interview with the Montreal
Consulate and was improved!!!
If you recall, my situation was that my fiance was unexpectedly laid off two weeks
ago and we didn't have enough time to get a co-sponser.
We took the old Affidavit of Support and his old Employment letter with us and gave
it to them and also told them the truth that he was recently laid off.
We also gave them a copy of his Unemployment Record and Business license and they
were understanding!
THey also wished me a Happy Birthday which was yesterday.
The interview was for 9:30, I got approved around 10:45 and had to return at 2:30 to
pick up the visa. The actual interview itself lasted about 10 minutes.
My timeframe:
31st Dec 01 - Submitted package 4th Jan 02 - 1st NOA 12th March 02 - 2nd NOA 8th May
02 - Consulate interview and visa!
Good luck to everyone else in the process and a BIG THANK-YOU to everyone who has
helped me thus far and I know I'll have questions for the next phase(s).

Congratulations to you & your fiance!!! Your typo was cute: "Had interview at
Montreal Consulate and was IMPROVED!" (instead of Approved).....
YES! Now that you're through this part of the process...and get to be with your
love...that IS an IMPROVEMENT!! : )
Much luck to you, and very happy for your success!
