Continuing from my previous post.
After supplying copies and originals of my documents I was asked to sit down
and wait.
Eventually called to see an American official at booth 6.
Very pleasant guy. Asked me expected questions on how we had met, how
many times, where we where going to live etc. Threw in a question on my fiancee's
daughter's age which took me by surprise.
He checked the affidavit of support and declined further information I offered on my
financial status. Asked me for pictues of the two of us together and that was it.
He said our visas were approved and to call back at 12.30 when the medical
results would be back.
Had a long lunch and got back to the embassy at 12.25.
Our names were called at 12.28 and we were handed our passports with
nice shiny visas inside together with the sealed brown envelopes for
handing in at the POE.
That was it. Very friendly staff eveywhere and very efficient.
Good luck to everyone going through the process and many thanks to all
the contibutors to these forums who have helped me with their advice.
Regards
Mike

Mike,
Thanks for sharing, and congratulations to you and your daughter! By the way, she will need Hepatitis B vaccination before the US schools will let her attend - it might be worth starting that now, as it takes 3 Hep B vaccinations in all.

congratulations mike and thank you for posting your experience...
i read your "report" to my daughter who is 12 and she was extremely glad to have confirmed that she doesn't have to have the medical as she'll be under 14... (if NSC doesn't slow down any more than they already have)...
knowing someone else has gone through it so recently makes such a difference...
i have a few questions which are form related.. perhaps, once you are settled of course, you would pm me a contact e-mail that perhaps i can use to ease my mind about a few things...

When the doctor told my daughter she only has to have the one shot
she was quite pleased. I haven't told her yet that it comes in three parts!
