Hello everybody,
My daughter and I finally got our visas at the London embassy on Thursday. We only
got back last night so this is the first opportunity to post. Here's how it went:
Arrived at Doc Phelan's around 7.40am, probably number 8 in a queue of
12. There where about 25 of us when the doors opened punctually at 8am.
Given a plastic folder with printed details of the procedure. Put passports,
medical quetionnaire and one colour photo of each of us in folder and handed
it back to receptionist.
Waited in nice room with eveybody else until our names were called.
Paid the Medical fees and were sent downstairs to a smaller waiting room.
I had a blood sample taken by a pleasant nurse and we were then both ushered in
to see the X-ray lady. Laura, my daughter, didn't need an X-ray because she is
under 14. I had a quick chest X-ray and then we both waited about 15 minutes
to see the doctor.
Went in together for the medical examiation which was quick and painless. Told
that I needed to get a Tetanus shot and Laura needs a Hepatitus shot before
filing fo AOS.
Handed my X-ray and told to proceed directly to the embassy.
Arrived at 10.45 and was shown in by a guy with a clipboard who was trying to
to organise the long quee outside.
Gave my appointment letter to a guy at booth number 2 and told to wait until
my name was called.
Thirty minutes later i was called up to see the same guy and he asked me for
originals and copies of certain documents. He didn't take everything I had so
