Ok, here's my 2 cents worth. DCF DCF DCF!!! We did it earlier in the year in South Africa and it took 33 days. Of course, you mileage may vary, and you must call the consulate to verify that they will do this for a non-resident, from everything that I've seen, yes they do.... The key is preparation. Start getting all your documentation together NOW!! Go down with everything you need, including your affidavit of support. Here's a couple of links with some more info:

http://www.kamya.com/interview/intro.html >>> click the "i-130 interviews" link then click on Brazil. One of the experiences is in Portugese though.....Good Luck

Go to Brazil, marry there and file for DCF, as long as there are no
complicating factors (such as criminal convictions, medical problems,
previous run-ins with INS, etc.). I married my wife in Brazil in June,
on July 5th we filed the I-130 at the consulate. She received her visa
on September 12! Not bad! 69 days in all. Now she'll be coming to the
US next week and will immediatelly be allowed to work and have the
same rights as any other permanent resident. No need for filing AOS,
advanced parole, EAD, etc. Only time we'll need to deal with INS will
be in two years to remove conditions. My DCF experience was very
pleasant and if you can do it, I would certainly say go for it! Don't
forget, though that this is based on my personal experience and I have
no formal legal trainning, nor do I claim to in any way be an expert
in immigration matters....
Good luck!

Our filing took 33 days from submitting the I-130 petition to receiving the visa. We were able to be together the entire time, although if you have to return to the States for work etc, you can file the I-130 in brazil and leave your (then) spouse to complete the interview.
Jerry's advice about preparation in ON THE NOSE. Begin now if you want the same kind of success that we've enjoyed.
Good luck and best wishes.
