K-1 case forwarded to 'wrong' consulate

K-1 case forwarded to 'wrong' consulate
Hi all, I received 797 approval form from INS Vermont on May 10, 2002. It indicated
that the case was forwarded to Shanghai consulate, China, however, I just learned
that Shanghai consulate does not handle k-1 visa (the only consulate that handles K-1
in China is Guangzhou consulate).
My question is then: how do I transfer the case to Guangzhou consulate? Should I be
contacting INS in Vermont? or Shanghai consulate (the place where the case is
sitting), or Guangzhou?

The VSC should know this already. In any case, if it did show up in Shanghai, it
would be forwarded. You could try calling the VSC (yeah, right) and see if there is a
way to intercept it.
