hey everyone, well mahir had his interview monday and was approved for it....then yesterday he gets a phone call saying that the embassy officer didn't ask him for his official birth certificate or police certificate and both need to be sent before the visa can be issued....so he UPSed it yesterday and hopefully his visa will arrive by next monday....just wanted to post as kind of a warning so that if they don't ask you or your fiance for these two docs at the interview you should give them anyway or you'll probably get a call like he did where it holds up leaving the country.....good luck everyone....

On an ironic note, the Ankara embassy insisted that Sadegh (Iranian ciziten) MUST have his ORIGINAL birth certificate (shenasnameh, in Persian) to show at the interview. Sadegh spent 2 months in Iran obtaining this document specifically for the interview, which put us way behind schedule! We had sent in a photocopy of it with the P3 materials. Finally, at the interview, they NEVER asked to see the original at all!! We brought it, but never had to show it! But, it would have been just our luck to not have it and then been asked for it! LOL
Best Wishes,
Rene
