Interview at London Embassy
Can I just confirm with those who have had their interview:
My appointment letter stated that my appointment is at 8:01 but the time is
scribbled out.
It also states that my medical appointment is at 8:00.
Do I assume from this that I should arrive for my medical at 8:00 and go to
the embassy for the interview immediately following completion of the
medical, whatever time that may be?
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy
You are correct. But go early for medical. You will have to go to the
interview soon after you finish your medical.
When I went for my interview, I got there really early, about 7:30am but the
clinic doors were closed. So I thought it won't open until 8am and I went
for a coffee. When I came back, the doors were still closed.. and I buzz the
door and I was the last one for the medical.. Silly me....
Best of luck

Hi Khin, that's a good tip!
Was your medical performed at the time stated on your appointment letter, or
was it just the time you had to arrive and begin waiting?
Many thanks for the info,
Andy

There were about 15 to 20 people. Obviously, they can't do all of them in
one go. U have to register at the front desk once u get there and U have to
wait until your turn (according to the time u arrive there). I finished
around 11am.
Don't worry too much. Everyone at the Embassy is very helpful and friendly.

That's what I figured.
As I'm staying in London the night before anyway, I'm aiming to get to the
docs at the crack of dawn to hopefully get a head start on the queue

I've heard that and - to be honest - until now I've not felt nervous at all.
As it gets closer though, I have to confess to a few nerves, justified or
not
Thanks again for the info,
Andy

Re: Interview at London Embassy
Get there early----you want the blood tests to be picked up by the
courier (the last one is around 1 or 2PM.) Then go right to the embassy
from the medical.
Ken had the "8:01" crossed out on his appt. letter also.
Good Luck!!

Who goes first is not dependant on what time you arrive. When you get
in there they give you a folder and a medical questionaire to fill in.
You put you passport, vaccination records and one passport photo in
the folder with the filled up question sheet and take it back to the
desk at the front door.
Certainly the day I was there, they called people with kids first.
There was a couple there with three kids younger than five and they
went first. I had my 11 year old daughter with me and we went next.
After that it seems to depend on how quickly you can get the medical
form filled out and back to the front desk.
Once you have got the medical out of the way, eveyone finished up at
the Embassy anyway, where you sit and wait again until the blood test
arrive. So all in all just about everyone comes out at the end within
half an hour of each other, so when you have your medical is
irrelevent.
One tip though. Buy the £10 envelope as soon as you get in the
Embassy, otherwise they send you back downstairs to buy it and you
waste time.
Take a book. You will do a lot of sitting around waiting. And good
luck.

I'll make sure that the passport photos are cut apart before I arrive then!
