I'm trying to find guidance or at least some information on
intercultural weddings. My fiance is from Europe and currently living
in America with me on a student visa. We would like to get married in
Europe but return back to America after the wedding as soon as
possible. I'd appreciate any information on how to do this, any sites
or books for resources, tips, etc.
Thanks!!

Elizabeth,
Check the official USCIS web site (www.uscis.gov)
Also, use forum US Marriage Based Visas in Britishexpats. There is a lot of people who are in situation like you are.
I'm also from Europe and just got married to a US citizen. I was in the States on a temporary work permit and our wedding was here in the States as well. After the wedding, we filed for Adjustment of Status. Pretty straightforward.
However, if you are planning on having your wedding in Europe, you'll end up separated for quite a long time.......your husband will have to apply for a special visa before he is allowed to come back to the States and the process might (and probably will) take a long time.
If you want to be married and actually be together right after the wedding, get married in the US and file for Adjustment of Status. That way, you'll be together and he can still attend the school.
But it would be wise to check the other Britishexpats forum for more precise answers.
Good luck.

Somebody got up-in-arms when I brought up this idea, basically saying
that it was bad etiquette --
But I *did* know a couple who quietly got the City Hall marriage so
that he (he was British) could stay in the States. A few months later
they had the "big wedding".
