Default Inspector General on USCIS processing times [duplicate post]

The most frequent topic of discussion in this forum are "timelines."

Well, on March 9, 2018, the Office of Inspector General of DHS issued the following report:

In other words, you are not alone.

Interesting read!

I took away from it that they aren’t necessarily doing anything to speed the process up? Obviously it’s fantastic if they can set a realistic expectation and provide clearer data to applicants but I feel like people want their applications done faster (obviously), so it’ll be interesting to see if they can address that in anyway.

This report didn't propose that they need to speed things up, indeed it actually suggested that it was good it was taking longer and that officers should have the freedom to vet appropriately. They just want applicants to be reasonably informed.

Yeah, I read it as an it'll take as long as it takes, but just be more accurate in the data displayed on the timelines online

Now seems there's been a big change and update in how processing times are displayed.
