28 Aug 2015: I-130 Application sent to Embassy (recorded delivery) for IR1 Visa.
03 Sep 2015: Notice of Approval text message that I-130 is now filed. Payment taken today.
(We spent the next few weeks getting vaccinations, gathering paperwork and getting the ACRO Police Certificate).
24 Oct 2015: Notice of Approval letter from USCIS that application is being transferred to Visa Unit.
17 Nov 2015: Letter received from Immigrant Visa Branch at Embassy with LND number.
18 Nov 2015: Medical Booked.
20 Nov 2015: Medical Finished.
22 Nov 2015: Submitted Notification of Readiness online.
03 Dec 2015: Received letter with Interview Date of January 8th.
08 Jan 2016: Interview attended and approved on the day (it took 2 hours).
12 Jan 2016: Passport and visa delivered by courier!
Total time was 4.5 months from start to finish. It happened faster than we expected, and the Embassy staff were very friendly and professional.
