I765 help for AOS from K1. Previous L1B.
 

Hello All,

I'm struggling to answer Q11 on the EAD form. Your input would be appreciated. I have previously worked in the US about 5 years ago under an L1-B visa (inter company transfer) . I was tempted to answer 'yes' to Q11 'have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?'

I then came across a thread posted by a previous J visa holder who was advised to answer 'No' as the J visa was not issued by USCIS.

Is ‘No’ the correct answer to this question for me as well? Im not sure how to go about finding this out for myself.

You previously held a work visa, which was issued by DOS. You have not previously applied for employment authorization from USCIS.

So your answer is "no".
