Default I751 Help! So confused!!!!

I really hope someone can answer this question because the National Service
Center sure can't!!!! I just got of the phone with them and I am more than ever
confused! I don't know anymore what steps I took were right or wrong....

I filed our I-751 in March and received our NOA on March24, 2003 from Vermont
Service Center. We now recently moved from PA to FL and so far we have done the
following to have our file transfered to Texas Service Center:

- sent AR11 Change of Address for myself to Kentucky and received return
receipt from post office
- sent Sponsor Change of Address to Texas Service Center and received receipt
notice from Texas (National Service Center said we have to send it to Texas not
Vermont since they have now jurisdiction over us)
- sent letter to Vermont Service Center informing them about our move and
requesting a file transfer to Texas Service Center (NSC said so)
- called NSC informing them about address change and they took all information

Now so far so good. I am trying to find out if our file has been transfered.
Last month NSC told me that it will be transfered automatically. Now I called
them again and got some completly different information. This lady told me that
our file will still be processed from Vermont Service Center and not Texas
because that is were we filed originally.......she also said that we would have
to send in a change of address to our local Philadelphia office. They than will
transfer our file to the local Florida office.(Even though we sent our I751 to
Vermont) And she took our address change again over the phone and said that
Vermont would send me a receipt notice for this change for myself and I should
get a letter in the mail within 3-4 weeks.

I am sorry this is sooo long but I am so confused ! All I want to know is where
our file is and who is responsible for it and how I can find out about it..oh
yes and what really are the correct steps when you move and you have a pending
file like this?.what a nightmare! Has anyone any suggestions???????

Please help!!!!

Katrin

My suggestion is to send a copy of all the stuff you sent to all and every service center involved. Make sure that you have a change of address notification set up at the old post office in case they send you a letter, etc. I renewed my change of address when I moved after the expiration because I've heard horror stories of people not getting their approvals and it was because it was sent to the old address. Even though when I moved I was still in the same jurisdiction and didn't need to change offices, I didn't take any chances. And sure enough I did get an approval at the old address. It's better to be safe then sorry.

I'd BCC everyone so that everyone office gets the notification of the change.

Best of luck
