Does anyone have any clue as to when these will be looked at. I filed over a year ago
and would like to get this soryed out. I feel like it is hanging over my head and
want to feel comfortable living here.
I called the number to check status and it doesnt recognise my Alien ID.
Any ideas or suggustions?
Thanks so much.

Well wait more! I had to wait 18 months...and need the help of a congressman too!!!!
You can not check the status of I-751 automatically by calling the number. You have
to speak with someone who will eventually tell you nothing (my experience). It is a
real pain in the @ss. R

R, What happened 18 months after you filed? Did they send you something in the mail?

I got a letter saying you will know within 39 months. Do not contact us before then.
Then I got a 1 year extension (temporary).

I wrote to the Congressman and after 2 months (18 from filing) I received the
letter of approval by mail from the INS and after few days I received the same copy
from the Congressman Office. Strangely the approval was dated 18 months before, few
days after I filed...This was strange!!!!!!! However I got the aproval and that is
what I wanted!

I went to the site and I had to fill out a Privacy Release Form. Then I wrote a
letter with details about my application and what I did (i.e. I called the CSC with
no results and I went to SF Office with no results) and I expressed the concern
that my application might have been lost. I have the feeling that they just send a
formal form to the Head of CSC asking for status/information. However I think it
helped me!!!
