Default I485 Processing Time for Pakistani's ??

Hi,

We submitted our I485 based on F2A Category in November 2005.

All Fingerprints, Medicals and the I485 Interview was done in June 2006.
The immigration officer took the I94 Card also.

Since that time we have just been waiting and Immigration keeps on telling
us that the Background Checks are still not back.

Question is, how long will these take ? A year, two years or is it
immigrations way of just setting our files aside because born in Pakistan
and they will never look at these again.

Even filed a Writ of Mandamus based on extra time it is taking on the case
but Immigration came back and said that we just have to stay put and wait
for the background checks to be completed.

Any suggestions how we can get this going ? I am guessing involvement from a
Senator will not help us either ?

Thanks

My husband is Swedish and we waited 1 year post-AOS interview for his background check to be completed. So it's not limited to Pakistanis.

The lengthy security check delays are not only for Pakistanis. There are several people on this forum of different nationalities who have been waiting 1, 2, 3 years plus. There is not much you can do except what you are doing.

Best Wishes,
Rene

I personally from Australia and waiting over a year now...so I sitting
here an waiting just like a vast majority of people. I have tried all
different angles to see what directions to make it go fast with no
such luck. I know it aint fun an sure does make me extremly patient
even though I do think at times that I will loose my patience but I
know that it will work out eventually for the best. Good luck
