i130 Alien Registration Number

i130 Alien Registration Number

Got a doubt here...

On i130 they ask me for my HusbandÂ´s Alien Registration Number, I
guess this is my HusbandÂ´s Passport Number, but iÂ´ve been told that
"The "A" number is your Alien number that INS will assign to you. Its
an 9 didget number that you'll find on all your documents that you get
from them. EAD, GC, etc. Everyone is given an A number weather their
case is denied or apporved. Its how INS keeps their records". so why
do they ask me for my HusbandÂ´s Alien Registration Number on form
i130? itÂ´s supposed that i130 is the first step so at this step nobody
has given us the Alien Registration Number...

What am i missing here?... which one is true?, please help?
what do i have to fill on the Alien Registration NumberÂ´s Field?

What is missing is that some people will have had an A# (Alien Registration Number) already assigned to them for another type of visa, i.e. H-1B (work visa), F-1 (Student visa). So for those people with A#'s the information is entered in the box provided. For those people like your husband who never was issued an A# previously, you enter "NONE".
