I129-f approval
We have been approved for the first stage. How long does it generally take for the K1
package to be sent out from the consular office?

It realy depends on which service center you used and the country your fiance is in.
Did you use a cable request form or did you request cabling on your I-129? Please
provide us with details and timlines.

We were approved through the NSC on 3/14/02 & the approval reached the Consulate
Amsterdam on 3/22/02 via diplomatic pouch.

Wow that diplomatic pouch is moving fast between NSC and Amsterdam =). We were approved 4/9 by NSC as well but I am still waiting for the pouch to get to Frankfurt consulate. It's been almost 5 weeks and I am hoping it'll get there any day now.

We used the TSC and the consular office is in Australia. No we didnt fill out any
cable request form.

Tell me about it! After we were approved, I was (for the first time in 3 months) able
to get through to an immigration officer at the NSC & she said that it takes 5-6
weeks for the consulate to receive the approval - and NOT to expect it any sooner
than that. Imagine my shock - when it took a week! So...with that said...you probably
only have about another week 1/2 for your approval to reach the consulate, according
to the NSC's timeline that they gave me. Much luck to you!

Tell me about it! After we were approved, I was (for the first time in 3 months) able

Thanks for that information Jennifer and lets hope you are right about it not taking much longer =). I had read that it would take 5-6 weeks for a file to reach the consulate but of course I was delusional and hoped it would go a bit faster. Kinda drives you crazy to check your mailbox every day and it's empty except for a few cds you got off ebay just to receive a few pieces of mail at all =). I just realized I am paying to have people send me mail. I hope that's not as bad as paying for sex =)!
And Kristen, I knew it was you guys holding up that pouch =D! But at least our files can keep one another company on their very looooong way over here.

What is the difference between requesting it via a cable request form and requesting
it on the I-129f?
