Default I-134 questions, i need your opinions pls

I submitted I-129F to petition my fiancee a month ago. i am now on the process of completing my I-134 but im a bit confused if i need to get a co-sponsor. I have my 3 years ITR,the first two years were low they didnt meet 125% above poverty guideline since i was only a student then. The latest ITR marked me a 15,900 income and it says in the poverty guideline that 125% should be 15,600. Luckily, i got another job just this month and this will raise my income to about 25,000 annually. Do you think i still need a co-sponsor? or what paper should i get in to include my income with the new job i just got? Any reply is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

Scott,

I don't think you need a co-sponsor because you are presently making more than the required amount. But, what I think doesn't count - it's what the consular officer who processes your fiancee's visa application thinks that is important.

When the time comes for your fiancee to submit your I-134 you will want to document your income level at that time with a then current letter from your employer and a few pay stubs.

Regards, JEff

thanks jeff! but yeah thats my worry too, since my income is just slightly above the requirement, (the one shown in my latest ITR which was 15,900) the consular officer might think i couldnt finance enough my fiancee's other needs like hospital (God forbid she'll get sick here). Do you think those matter to the consular officer who will decide on the visa of my fiancee? Which one do you think he/she will consider, is it the income on the ITR or my latest pay stubs which will include my two jobs? Thanks again!

What they really care about at the interview is how much you are
making from now on- current pay stubs are useful.

And, technically, the requirement when using the I-134 is 100% of
poverty guidelines.

Do the same income requirements apply to all immigrant visa applicants
even if they use the I-134?

No. The 125 percent minimum income requirement, the need for the last
three years income tax returns and other requirements only apply when
an I-864 is needed. Applicants using the I-134 will need to show that
their sponsor's income is 100 percent of federal poverty guidelines as
required under Section 212(a)(4) of the INA.

Huh? That's not true -- the I-134 asks for 125% of the poverty level, unless you are in active military duty...in this case they require only 100%.

Scott, you SHOULD be fine...make sure you get an employer letter on company letterhead and pay stubs as well as tax returns to be sure though.

The I-134 asks nothing of the sort. Citation please.

Okay, sorry, was a little too hasty there in response...came out a little rude. What I meant was that I understood it was to be that much...excuse my lack of discretion in posting.

And you weren't completely wrong. Just as "Harold" isn't completely wrong, but is assuming that any given Consulate will follow the I-134 rules for K visas.
Which they may or may not.

Your assumption about what Harold assumes is completely wrong- note
the qualifier "technically".
