I quit my job, how will that affect AOS 3rd interview?
Hello,
my husband and I are going for our 3rd AOS Interview in San diego this coming Thursday. One thing I'm wondering about: I resigned from my job (after 10 years) on Sept 13. I have no plans to work again until the new year. My husband is working, however. Also, we have enough money put away to cover the poverty thing for 6 years. Are there any hard & fast rules on this type of situation? I'm so tired of traipsing downtown to INS for these Interviews I could scream. They want us to bring more proof of his physical presence since his entry into the US last year. When is this going to come to completion, I wonder. Thank you,

They can be bitchy about it. However, if you can document the assets then there should not be a problem with the I-864. In fact if your husband is working (great proof by the way with him naming you as beneficiary to health, 401K plans, etc.) he can add his income on form I-864A.

THIRD interview? Usually there is only ONE interview in San Diego. What is the problem with your case? Do you have any idea? If they are interviewing you for the third time, I suggest you consult with an attorney.
In San Diego, I'd recommend [aphabetical order]
Eleanor Adams 619 238 1121
Jan Joseph Bejar [careful, there is an attorney of a similar name] -- 619 239 5449
Lea Hurwitz -- 619 239 7855 [same suite as Jan Bejar]
Kathrin or Robert Mautino -- 619 235 9177 [the daughter learned everything she needs from the father -- either one is excellent]
John Quinn 619 233 6661 [same suite as Hurwitz & Bejar].
Good luck.

yes, THIRD Interview. My husband had been denied entry when coming for his 4th visit in Dec 2000, due to abuse of the Visa Waiver. Also he is 17 yrs. younger than me, (I'm 47, he is 30)which probably is another reason for our delay in his AOS being approved. I wonder, should I tell this interviewer that I would not have made 3 trips to the UK to see him if we were not a "real" couple?
Anyway, thankyou for your attorney recommendations. We had hired one for the K-1, but he and his staff treated me as if I were an idiot, so I finished that up myself. (Waste of money).
As for Bob Mautino, I have actually spoken with him before! He came highly recommended. I think I will give him a ring tomorrow and get his input.
Thank you to Rete and yourself. If we are not approved after this THIRD Interview, then I think we will have to bite the bullet and get an attorney (again!).
