Thanks Leslie... I'm thinking of going the K-3 route.... I just want to marry him & have him here with me. It's torture not being with him. depending on what we find out, we may be marrying in May on or around his birthday.

For my husband & myself, it seemed like the only way we could have not had to wait seperated would be if I could go over w/him (after the wedding & filing pwk) and wait there.

But, I have a job and other responsibilities here, so that wasn't feasible...
So waiting, we do...

The K3 (spousal visa) was never meant to be faster than the K1, but it is certainly faster specially if you have to go thru Nebraska for a K1, the only "lucky" people who gets approved in 60 days are those who file thru Vermont.. but again the service center is something you cant choose.
The k3 doesnt take that long, I have got approved in 73 days

There ya go girlie, we are all in the same boat, we know you dont want to be apart from your fiancee but it is necessary, you will spend a few months away from him yes.. but what you gain is priceless!!, so start reading.. and if you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask, we are all here to help you!!

BettieBlue, I know what the wait's like. I'm in KY, so I had to go through the Texas Service Center. We applied in early August and we're still awaiting approval. We're also hoping for an April or May wedding. We've been able to see each other for about a week every 3 months or so, and the time apart is a killer! It was better for us to go the K1 route so that we could save money for a somewhat nice ceremony, some furniture, and for him to save some money to help out until he can get work authorization and find a job. Just a few extra things to consider. As much as we both wanted to be together, and now dammit!, it was better for us to wait and make sure everything was well taken care of.

well, I think we may be going the K3 route..... I just want him here as soon as possible. The good thing is I have a house and rent is really cheap and I can manage the bills on my own, as for the wedding...I don't care about the ceremony. My first wedding was the whole 'fairy tale' wedding done at a Renaissance faire. I'm not having a wedding for the ceremony.... I just want to be his wife and share the rest of my life with him.....
