Default I have a question

I'd appreciate alot if anyone could help me out to understand and get
the true answer to my question:

I work for the Immigration (under Department of working permit for the
foreigns). Do you think it's ok for me to marry my girlfriend who
stays here illegal? I really want to give a try to share my life with
her. But I'm afraid that I'll lose my job, since that I work for the
Govement - Immigration, and I'm on my 4 yrs' probation (I'm in my
1st. yr. right now).

What should I do?
Can I marry her and as well help her with the paperwork?

Thank you,

Your concern is more on the employment qualifications /conditions and
restrictions imposed by your type of job. You can find out more about it
through your legal department or your supervisor.
Your plan to marry an illegal is another matter of concern which can be
dealt with after you clear up the first one.

spouse is an unknown quantity at this point

It sounds like you are in a very different department, and I am sure that marrying your girlfriend would not be grounds to fire you. And if it is, what is more important to you, your life with this woman, or this job?

I would say go for it. Heck, I don't think you are even required under the law to tell the people that you work for that she is or was illegal.

However, the process may be quite complicated, especially if she entered without inspection. If you have any questions regarding this, come to www.immigrate2us.net and post under I-601.
