Default I-864 self employed - question about business expenses

Does anyone know how should I answer this question? My husband is about to file his tax return and start I-864 form to sponsor me. His question is:

'Does my income need to be at 125% of the poverty level before or after expenses if my business expenses were subtracted from personal income?'

My husband is self employed. If anyone can help me answer this question I would be very grateful.

Default Re: I-864 self employed

After.

It's only his personal income that can be used in the I-864.

So, for example, if the business earned $80,000, but he had $20,000 in business expenses, then his profit (personal income) was $60,000. It's the 60K figure that can be used as income on the I-864.
