I easily meet the poverty limit with my salary. Can I just put "n/a" on all the lines
where I list my assets?
Also, I have transcripts of the my tax returns for years 1998, 1999, 2000. I just
filed electronically using some tax software for the year 2001. Is the printout from
the software acceptable to the INS? I set it up do direct deposit into my account and
would rather not give the INS my bank routing # that's printed on the 1040 form if I
don't have to. Can I "white it out" or is it best to just leave it? Should I sign it
even though I file electronically.
Thanks, Jim [email protected]

Yes that's OK. In fact since you get to skip the question you can leave the whole
part blank if you want.

For the AOS interview you'll provide financial details on your bank accounts anyway
so leave the form as it is. I just adjusted status and both my 2000 and 2001 tax
returns were filed electronically. I printed the form that says you've filed
electronically (and has the DCN on it) - since the law does not require that is
signed, I didn't and it was fine.
