I-864 Household size question

My wife is the USC, im the beneficiary.

Part 5 of the I-864 affidavit of support works out the size of the household
5. 1 will be 1 as i am the only person being sponsored
5.2 is herself
5.3 is enter 1 if currently married

and that is my confusion cause if she enters 1 then it totals the size of the household as 3 when the household will only be me and her, so do I leave 5.3 blank despite clearly her having a spouse

Thanks

Please read the instructions. It states to not count anyone more than once.

Yes I saw that but it also clearly states put 0 or 1 in the spouse bit and 0 would be incorrect, hence just trying to clarify, so you are saying just leave that blank

Re: I-864 Household size question

section 5 .... the boxes you are asking about are under the header "Persons you are NOT sponsoring" so I can see your confusion. You are listed on Part 3 so I would put 0 in the married column as you are being sponsored but cannot be counted twice.

Your household size is 2 if you have no children being sponsored.

You would not put a 1 in the area under persons not being sponsored as a spouse as you are being sponsored.
