Hi, my marriage-based AOS interview is coming up in 2 weeks and I need some help with the I-864 form. I am the beneficiary. Here is my situation:
1. I was laid off in Sept. 2002 and am still unemployed. We live with my in-laws since october. My spouse's income is not enough, so we need a joint sponsor, which is going to be my father-in-law, if needed. Now here is the question: Can my income from last year be used by my spouse to qualify as a sponsor? OR should we simply use a joint-sponsor and not worry about my income?
2. Since we have been living with my in-laws, we have no lease or mortgage stuff. What can we do? Will a notarized letter from my father- and mother-in-law stating that we live with them sufficient? The same goes for untility bills. Our financial accounts, both bank and credit card, accounts are joint, so no problem there.
3. Anything else that you think we should take for the interview?
Thanks.
