Default I-797C received - production of green card?

Hello, everyone.

I hope you're enjoying a super holiday season!

Context: new PR, arrived in USA on Nov 17th on CR-1 visa; SSN received; awaiting green card.

I received a 'Form I-797C, Notice of Action' in the mail today, with little information on it to suggest what it's for. It just says 'USCIS has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request'. It also states I don't need to do anything, so it's just a courtesy NOA. After some savvy Googling, notably of the acronym (OS155A) that's listed under 'case type', the only thing the USCIS website has to suggest is that this could have something to do with a change of address form, of which I've filed zero. ('The Form Number used for an address change on a USCIS Immigrant Fee payment is “IVF” or “OS155A”.') There's nothing else on the NOA that I can go by to hazard any more guesses.

Could it just be that this relates to the production of my green card, following my payment of the immigrant fee? Is an NOA normal at this stage in the game, or ought I be investigating further? I tried calling USCIS, but struggled to get through to a human, as per, and when I finally did, she hung up on me after I said 'hello'. How festive!

Thanks, all.

Ah, I've just found this: https://www.uscis.gov/i-797-info

I think I've answered my own question, and this is indeed just a confirmation of payment. Fingers crossed that means my green card will be on its way in not too long.

If anyone knows or believes any different, please do say so! But hopefully that's all this is.

I entered a couple of weeks before you and my GC has apparently arrived. There was also another poster that has theirs and they entered about a week before me, so if timeframes stay the same you might see it soon.

Desperate for mine so i can do global entry and tsa as i travel all the time.

Hopefully you have a quicker time getting an interview. My airport office is like 4+ months.
