Default I-765 Approved

I checked online and following is the status:

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status:
On May 21, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you a new
card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

How long does it take before I will get the card? Hopefully before my
current EAD and drivers license expires, which will happen in a couple of
weeks. I filed with Vermont Service Center.

In our case it was 6 days from online approval to receiving the card via mail. If this is your first EAD, don't forget to apply for a SSN once you receive it.

Then get a job!

This is my second EAD. The received date was February 10, 2004. So it took
101 days for the approval. Unfortunately, my husband's (who is the primary
applicant with an approved I140) application is still pending. We filed at
the same time. Last year, he ended up getting an Interim EAD from NYC. You
may want to do the same. You must wait 90 days from the receipt date before
going to your local USCIS office.

Good luck.
