I-751 at TSC what is the truth?
Hi All,
we filed for the removal of conditions on permanent residency with the
Texas Service Centre in June 2003.
After a copule of weeks we got a Notice of Action that extended for
one year the work permit and the conditional residency.
After that we never heard back from TSC so last January (2004) we
decided to call them.
They told us that they were processing January 2003 applications and
that in case they could not process ours by June 2004 they would have
set an appointment for us and renewed the work permit and conditonal
residency for another year.
We called back a second time a couple of days ago a talked with a
different person and got a very different scenario. This time we were
told that they are processing February 2003 applications but that in
case they could not process our application by June 2004 they will not
do any temporary extension of the work permit and of the residency!!!
Considering the pace they are keeping in processing applications we
fear it is very likely that by June 2004 they won't have yet processed
our application and are wondering what will happen and what we should
do.
What is the truth? Will or won't they extend for another year the work
permit and residency?
What should we do???
Any advice or piece of information will be very much welcome!!

Your I-551 status will continue until the I-751 is either approved or
denied. If you wish, you could go to the local USCIS office and get a
passport stamp after the green card expires. There is no work permit
renewed as there is no work permit needed, other than your I-551 (PR)
status.
