I-751 at TSC, processing 1 Aug 2002 (possibly, if you believe it ....)
For what it's worth:
Spoke to TSC today regarding my I-751 case. She told me that they are
processing I-751 with receipt date of 1 August 2002. If so, that would mean
about 2 wks I-751 processing progress in the 4 weeks since Oct 15th status
as seen on the web (Shusterman.com, Matthew Udall's site) etc. She would not
give me an estimated current processing time.
I have not yet received my g/c extension letter although my kids extension
letters are date 10/10/02. She would not/could not tell me if my extension
letter had been mailed to me. She would not tell me how long it typically
took to mail out the extension letter to the main beneficiary on an I-751.
(I know that kids extensions are usually sent quickly in order to act as
confirmatin that the child is being treated as a dependent in the petition
as well as extending their g/c, but the main applicant usually seems to get
their letter in a few days too). She said I could go to local INS office to
'see if they will give you the extension stamp in your passport' - but she
*only* suggested that after I persisted and had asked her if it was possible
they would so that sounds just fabulous (not) ! My g/c is expired, the only
proof of status I have is the receipt number on the kids letters. Not a
happy bunny at the thought of waiting hours at the INS office without any
idea if they'll even give the stamp. I want to sign on for some college
courses and without proof of valid current residence I can't even though
I've been here since 2000. Grrrrr.
