Default I-751 - TSC

Okay:

Has anyone filed their I-751 with TSC and received an NOA from them or
had their check/money order cashed recently? The timeframe I am
talking about is in the last 3-4 wks. I filed mine on March, 1st 2003
and all I have received is the return receipt which had a stamp for
3.4.03. Do not know whether it was actually received and opened
because to this date they have not cashed the check sent with the
petition. It is practically impossible getting through to them by
phone to find out what is going on out there.

Having said that, looking at the worse case scenario whereby after day
90 when card has expired with no NOA.
- Am I out of status then?
- Can I go to a local office to get a stamp in my passport extending
my green card?
- Should I resend my petition to TSC before the 90 day window is up
assuming that the first petition I filed was misplaced?

Any experiences and info are much very much welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Hi! We filed our I-751 with TSC in October 2002. We never did and
still never have received an NOA which would have extended my
husband's GC for 1 year and would have given us a receipt number so we
could at least check his case status. About 2 weeks ago we went to
the Orlando district office to see if they would stamp his passport.
All we provided them with was his "A" number and they stamped his
passport for a year from that very day...I had expected that they
would stamp it for a year from the expiration date of his condistional
card so that was a real bonus. We were also able to obtain his
case/receipt number so if need be we could actually check on his case
using that, if we could ever get through on the TSC phone!

I can't remember how you said that you paid for your fee...if you paid
with a personal check then once it is cashed and returned to you your
receipt number will be on it.

If your conditional GC expires before you receive anything from TSC I
would strongly suggest that you go to your local district office ti
try to obtain an extension stamp in your passport, if for not other
reason than your peace of mind.

Thanks so much for the information.

I paid using a personal check because I knew I could download the
image of the check once it is cashed from my bank online website. I
mean without going through the hassle of asking them to get it. It is
three weeks and it has not been cashed.

I will try that in case I have not heard from them in the next 3-4
weeks. Spoke to someone at TSC yesterday and they were saying they are
very much backlogged.
