Default I-751 NSC Approval - Misplaced and 19 Months Later...

A "misplaced" I-751 package and 19 months later, we just received
approval today. I can remember our first NOA, claiming less than 3
months or so...

================================================== ===

Nebraska NSC I-751 Update:

This is our I-751 for my wife's removal of conditional residency on a
K-1 visa:

01-AUG-2002: Mailed I-751 package to NSC.
05-AUG-2002: NOA dated on this date extends alien card for 1 year.
30-OCT-2002: Renewed Greencard for another 1-yr. Received NOA later.
30-OCT-2003: Renewed Greencard for another 1-yr. Received NOA later.
04-FEB-2004: I-751 approval via letter from local INS office.

As it turns out, NSC had accidentally sent our I-751 to the Visa
Records office, unapproved...Our Senator's office determined this
through a phone call in November 2003.

Best advice to others, be patient but inquire through your Senator
once the projected NOA date has expired. After 5.5 years of INS
paperwork, nothing phases me anymore. My wife's N-400 is in the door
and she received a NOA. The paperwork end is getting near...

can you send your N-400 to NSC while you are waiting for your I-751 ,i
know you can do that with VSC and CSC but can u do that with NSC

i have been waiting for my I-751 at NSC for over a year and they don't
move for 5 weeks and they process 12/12/2002 and now they plain to
increase the N-400 fee $55

if so why u didn't send your N-400 earlier for your wife?
thanks and good luckd

Hi SB,

Actually, you can submit the N-400 as soon as 3 months prior to being
a (conditional) permanent resident for 3 years for K-1's (i.e. 33
months). This is true even if the I-751 is still pending a decision
and true for NSC. However, the N-400 approval first requires the
I-751 approval.

I will admit we just procrastinated a bit on the N-400, the
form/fingerprint fees are a bit of change for sure. Eventually, we
gave up on the I-751 pending status and rigoromor, not that it
mattered anymore, and submitted the N-400 with a pending I-751. Then
only weeks after the N-400 submission, we got notice of the I-751
approval.
