Folks

I applied for I-751 on Nov.15th. It's almost a month, & i haven't received the receipt which is technically 1 year extension pending I-751.

I'm worried as my GC is expiring on Jan 8th. Don't want to loose my job :( My employer is pressing me to renew my I-9 but I don't have the receipt. With holidays approaching, I'm assuming it will slow on Immigration side as officers are on vacation.

1) What are my options? 2) Are their folks who have filed at Vermont center after Nov.15th & received receipt? 3) Are their others at this center who haven't received reciept? 4) On this forum, I read about people filing and getting receipt/biometric appointment within a week. While that's great, is it normal?

Hi. I filed in VT around Sept. 1st. NOA receipt came 60+ days after
check cleared. After 30 days I called. About 30 days later NOA
arrived.

The notice is not "technically" a 1 year extension - it *is* a 1 year extension.


While your card expires, your status does not - and you need to educate your employer about this. You also need to know that your employer can not terminate your employment based solely on some future expiration of your employment status.

Hi, I sent my I-751 on January 30 2007 and i didnt get anything from them until May ( i mean NOA, i got it in May just cuz i called them for it, i asked whats wrong with my NOA). In February i just received a note that my check was cashed (they are fast with this). Now is July and i still dont have anything from them, no fingerprints done, no biometrics, i am going to call them on Monday about it though.
I hope this helps u a bit, at least you arent there yourself.
