Default I-751 and divorce....

Hi all - and what a great forum...I had a question...about to send off for my removal of conditions based on a 2 and a half year marriage (3 years togethr before that)....and am now divorced....I know I have 'above and beyond' evidence...for the AOS interview, our officer said my (now ex) hubby and I were the dream couple that the INS likes to see (oh the irony)....but I am worried about filing this waiver as I heard they frown upon this particular type of waiver, unless that spouse was battered or abused in some way and I was certianly not....

HAs anyone else on here been through this? I would love to hear of your experience....maybe you got approvd straight away or maybe you had a dreadful interview...???

I have no children.

Very best wishes to you and thanks in advance,
Louise.

No need to worry... send your application with your evidence. I don't know that I've ever heard of someone being denied for using the process that's specifically in place to cover divorce issues. You *might* be interviewed (ie. they will randomly select applications for interview), but you will not be targeted for an interview because of the waiver.

I believe my initial post in this thread for info for YOU... and you don't need to worry. Whatever you've heard about frowning "upon this particular kind of waiver" is a load of bunk. Relax. Live your life. Immigration is an adventure... not a burden.

Thanks Ian - I really appreciate the advice and help - like I said, this is a really great forum....

You are right to say 'relax' and i am definitely goign to go ahead and take your advice...although, I wish I could view immigration as an adventure...it defintiely seems to be more of a 'burden' at times!!!

God bless
