Steff,

I'm from the Netherlands and live in PA. I didn't have many problems getting
my drivers license. They did require me though to take the test as all new
drivers, as there was no agreement between the US and Netherlands. So what
problems is your husband having getting his license?

It was very easy for my wife to get a PA driver's license (too easy).
She just needed her birth certificate, proof of address and social
security card. This was before 9-11 though.

I believe there is a list of identification in the PA driver's manual.
Why is your husband getting flack?

PM?

I think I posted it on here a little while ago, but it got bumped down pretty fast

We looked at that list of ID on the PA drivers web site and it lists the ID that a "non- US citizen married to a US citizen" needs. He came over on a K-1, and has applied for AOS, so none of the old categories apply to him. The local drivers centers are not updated to this list and still have the old brochures that do not include that section. The people in Harrisburg also didn't know about it. So when my husband went to take the learner's permit test, I told them that the brochures were outdated and showed the list printed off the net. They argued about that for awhile, then looked at it. They looked at our AOS receipt (one of the requirements) and said that it was not a receipt and that we could have made it at home! They wouldn't listen to anything we said.

Then we called Harrisburg to tell about the situation. They said they would call us back but never have. So now I have e-mailed a congressman, but haven't heard anything yet.

I don't know why they are making this so difficult! Seems like it was easy for you two.

I am thinking that you should go to a different driver's license
center. The one you have been going too seems to employ morons. We
went to one in Snydersville, PA in the Poconos and they are a class
act.

Maybe you should try an urban area? In PA it does not matter which
location you choose.

My wife got a passport endorsement so she can travel, her EAD stamp and her greencard without conditions will arrive in 6-12 months. She needed bith certificate because her maiden name changed, three passport photos for the new greencard (they take the old one with conditions on it), her driver's license and of course her passport. They want the driver's license as a government ID.

Hi

I just had one quick question. To get the passport endorsement for travel did you need any extra documentation or forms, or did you just ask the guy at the counter for the endorsement.

Thanks, Jonathan
